A Parenting Coordinator (PC) is a neutral, court-appointed professional who helps parents to establish a healthy "co-parenting" relationship in the wake of divorce. Co-parenting in two homes is different from parenting in one home. Co-parenting with a former partner requires new rules that do not come easily to recently divorced couples. Attorney Joyce coaches co-parents to communicate with each other more effectively, educates co-parents about the impact of co-parent conflict on children, mediates post-divorce disputes between co-parents, and acts as a referee to resolve impasses without having to go back to court. The goal is to learn and apply
a set of skills that protect children from ongoing conflict.
